sending email to non friends
I'd like to be able to send email to people in my network without having to add them as my friends. Is there work around for this?

Inappropriate?My problem is similar. I would like to invite people to my site from any email address without having to add them as friends. As it is now I have like 700-800 friends? I have had to create a fake ID to use to invite people I do not know to the site-This "Fake" is up to a couple hundred friends,I will have to delete it soon and create another. I wish I could send invites without having to add as a friend -

That will never happen Stephania. The reason it's set up that way is so that members can look at someone's profile page and/or posts and determine if that individual is someone they might enjoy communicating with. Remember, Ning mail goes directly to your personal email address, so the last thing anyone wants is emails from people they aren't interested in knowing. These are social networks, but members expect a certain level of privacy and the right to choose who can contact them and in which manner. This is why Ning has so many privacy controls.The best way for your members to get acquainted would be to comment on each others posts, leave a comment on their page or hit the chat room. After that, if they feel comfortable with the other person, they can add them to their Friends list and exchange email.
