Why profile photo is mandatory in the registration process?
I don't understand why NING ask for a mandatory profile photo when registering a new user. Now people are asked to provide a profile photo otherwise they cannot go on with the process, As result my acquisition ratio is lowering.
Time ago I had a different behaviour on my site: people were allowed to be registered even if a profile photp was missing.
Any help?

I also looked any other place under "manage" and I can't find where to change this "profile photo manadatory" behaviour.
Please help me. -
Inappropriate?Well that's interesting. In my Manage for Profile Pages I have 4 options. Under the last one you listed 'Allow members to add Profile Apps to their My Page' I have another one -
Require new members to add a profile photo.
Are you on centralized code? Have you requested source code access?

Inappropriate?No, I'm not managing the source code. It's just a standard NING site. By the way I have two site:
1) one lolcalized in "Italian"
2) one just a standard english ning site
in both cases I don't have the admin option you mention. -

Inappropriate?Thanks WhatsWrongWith.Ning.com. I put a ticket and after few hours NING gave the solution.
I post it here just in case other people could experience the same problem.
In Manage > Feature Controls under the Profile Pages heading you can choose to enable or not the profile photo mandatory option ONLY IF you have first enabled the photo feature (in Manage >> features and add the photos feature). Only in such circumstances you can see the option regarding the profile photo.
After you have chose you option if you want you can disable the photo feature and still the system keeps the option regarding the mandatory profile photo.
A bit counterintuitive and not so obvious but it works.
