I read today that the new Wii update includes support for gifting VC games, but how exactly does it work? Do you receive gifted games on the message board? Does the game just pop up as a channel?
As you may or may not know, the Wii Shopping Channel offers virtual NES/Super Nintendo/N64/Sega Genesis/Turbo Grafx/NEOGEO games in exchange for "Wii Points" (1000 WiiPoints= 10 bucks).
I'm using this as an opportunity to expand my game collection as well as expand my reasons to be embarassed about my secret life as a g4mer.
So far I've put myself out roughly 30,000 Wiipoints and purchased Street Fighter 2, ToeJam and Earl, and Shining Force.
Some games (ToeJam, Shining Force) can be controlled with the Wiimote, whereas other games require old school controllers.
So to those of you who have purchased any of these games for the Virtual Console, what are the best ones so far? There are 200+ games available, so it's important to wii-eed out the men from the boys.
I just spend like three hours slaying hideous goblins and progressing to Fight Level 4... now I have to go to school but I can't find a save option anywhere! Does this ish autosave? Someone please tell me, otherwise I'll have to leave the game on, torturing innocent family pets with looping 8-bit theme music.
I was looking for N64 games on the Virtual Console and they show icons indicating you need to use either a Wii Classic Controller or a Gamecube controller. Can I do that backwards; use the Wii Classic Controlle to play Gamecube games?
Let me know. This is getting complicated and none of those Gamestop peoples even has a Wii yet.
