Can you put spin on the tennis ball in Wii Sports?
One of my favorite parts of real-world tennis is spin: sidespin (for tweakage), bottomspin (for slowing it down), and topspin (for speeding it up). Is there any way to use spin in the Wii Sports tennis game?

Topspin: Roll your wrist forward so that the Wii Remote buttons face down as you connect with the tennis ball. This shot is tough to return.
Backspin: Roll your wrist back so that the buttons face up.
The key is to think *table* tennis motions rather than traditional tennis. It'll take a while to get the hang of it, but when you do, it really deepens the mechanics of the game and you'll wonder why you ever played it without these techniques.
I can't find any conclusive info regarding sidespin. I don't think Nintendo actually built this into the game, but I could be wrong. Can anyone else pull sidespin off consistently?

Inappropriate?when hitting the ball for backhand to spin it you must tilt the controller up {so the buttons face up}, then you must slice it aswell! hope that helps!! :D XD =] =)

Inappropriate?Side-spin seems to be something the computer can only do? But there are some videos on YouTube where the person puts "crazy snake spin", which is side-spin

Inappropriate?I was busy trying your backspin and frontspin and i figured out that all you gotta do is hold the wii remote Verticle while the buttons face the away from you and while hitting. instead of doing the normal motion, pull the remote downwards to the floor! Hope that can help
