Inappropriate?There are 3 main differences:
1. Motion control (Wii Only)
2. Widescreen support (Wii Only)
3. Free Camera using C-stick (Cube Only)
I haven't played the GC version, but having played through the Wii version, I can say that the Wii Remote functionality has little to no bearing on the game. Like many first generation Wii titles, motion controls seem to have been thrown in at the last minute.
So, if you can get a cheap copy of Twilight Princess for the Cube, go for it, you won't miss out on anything spectacular.

Inappropriate? As a general rule, how do the graphics compare on the two platforms?

Inappropriate? After checking out a few forums, I can confirm that the Wii version does not look any better than the Gamecube version. However, the Wii supports 16:9 aspect ratio, the Gamecube does not.
I forgot to mention this earlier: The Wii and Gamecube visuals are mirror images of each other, even down to the hand in which Link holds his sword (He's a righty on the Wii, a southpaw on the Gamecube).
My theory: There are far more righty's in the world, so swinging the sword feels better when your avatar is also right-handed.
