What different pitches can I throw in Wii Sports and how do I trigger them?

Just started playing and I'm not at all clear on what pitches are available, and what I have to do to make use of them. For instance, can I do a curve ball? And how do I throw the ball inside or outside (left or right)?

There's all kinds of cool tricks for Wii baseball ... though I always forget to use most of them, heehee! Here are few that I know of:

    • Changeup: This one I do more than the others. It is a slower pitch that seems to reliably throw off the batters as long as I don't overuse it. To use this just swing the control gently rather than swiftly. It still says "fastball" but the speed you'll see is much slower.

    • Softball pitch: hit the number 2 button before you throw and it will go into underhand pitch mode. It's easier to hide the nature of the pitch from others in the room with underhand mode. Just hit the number 1 button to go back to overhand speedball mode.

    • Curve ball pitch: This is merely a matter of holding down the the B button (that's the one at the bottom of the remote) when you throw

    • Screw ball pitch: Hold down the A button ( the one at the top of the remote) when pitching and the ball will tilt to the right

    • Splitfinger/splitter: I admit I didn't know what a "splitter" was until I looked it up, but you can do one by holding down A and B buttons at the same time when pitching. By the way, a splitter is where the ball appears to be heading straight and fast but then it drops and drifts to the left or right (thank you Wikipedia!). In the case of Wii sports it will stump the batter but if they don't swing it counts as a ball

psigaming of the GameFAQs.com forum (where I got some of this info) suggests mixing up the pitches almost every time.
