"Add Comment field" seems out of place
I think No Kahuna is great.
There is something I noticed that throws me off a little, so I thought I'd mention it and make a suggestion.
When viewing/commenting on a message, it seems counter-intuitive for the "add comment" field to be displayed *before* any existing comments. Have you considered placing the "add comment" field last? This way it would more logically continue the thread and users would see the entire conversation before commenting.

Inappropriate? It is a tricky one as everybody seems to have a different preference. Our reasoning is that when you arrive at the page (e.g. after an email notification) you want to be able to quickly fire of a response.
Eventually it might be best to allow people to customize it to their liking: Comments ascending, descending, form on top or form at bottom. But for now we'll keep it the way it is - I hope it is not a show stopper for you.
Cheers

Inappropriate?I understand your reasoning and can see how this is just a preference thing. It is not a show stopper for me, but I'll admit I'd find it handy for the most recent comment to be right in my field of vision when I'm writing the next comment.
I’m satisfied

Inappropriate? After some testing and use with a few clients, I've signed up for the 3 private projects plan to begin with and am going to be using No Kahuna to manage my projects. I'm sold.
I will just mention again my preference for comments to be displayed chronologically. That is, the first comment first (right after the message) with the form for entering a new comment at the very end. To me, this just reads better and is more logical since you see the conversation build from top to bottom, the way a person reads the page...then after you have all the info you make the next comment!
I can see how if a user is coming straight from an email they are likely to want to be right at the comment form, but what if they navigate to the page from the dashboard? They would need to scroll down the page, reading the conversation in reverse order before they could get the context, then scroll back to the comment entry form.
If you really want the link from the email to be directly to the comment form, maybe put an anchor link to the comment form in the email.
I know, keep it simple.... but the ability to have the comments displayed in the order they were posted with a comment form at the bottom would be more usable from my perspective. Your thought to make this a preference setting might be the solution. I know you can't make everyone happy and have to limit features, so thanks for considering...and thanks for making a great product.
I’m encouraged by your willingness to listen to suggestions

Inappropriate?Hey! Glad to have you on board!
We shall discuss this further internally. I appreciate how the current solution might be a problem for some people like less experience clients - and we are keen to have a low barrier to enter of course. Thanks for bringing it up again!
I’m glad to have you!
