Categorization switching could be easier
Switching between categories is too cumbersome and slow. If I want to re-file something it takes an age. Could you filter by category in the page using js rather than at the server side? it would also be nice to switch categories straight from the task list view. you have no clear "filing" methodology and because of this re-organising becomes something too annoying to do, leading to categories being more of a pain than a useful tool.

I was wondering if you've tried dragging the task into the category you'd like to move it to. The same crosshair handle can be used to sort and re-categorize tasks.

Actually I was talking to Tim (Diggins) this morning and it turns out that (a) my suggestion for filtering is one that he says he's already been nagging you for and you're implementing and (b) that you can do the 'drag to categorise' thing.
The drag to categorise thing is great -- exactly what I was wanting -- and the new filtering functionality, if it works as Tim said, would be exactly what I want too.
