Inappropriate?I really like this idea, maybe you could call it Mac-suite. ;-)
I'm sure there are a lot of other Mac and Linux users who chose Nokia phones over the iPhone or Android phones. Last year at the time of the Canadian release of the iPhone 3G I chose the N95 instead. I recently upgraded to the N97, at about the same time the 3G S was released on Rogers Wireless. I received it on June 30th and the very next day a new firmware update was released, but I still can't get it because I don't have a PC and everyone I know either has a Mac or a Linux-PC. My son tried to update his E71 using VM-Ware in Linux, but the attempt failed because it kept loosing the USB connection. I have seen online reports (Parallels forum) that the same disconnect has happened to Mac users using Parallels, so that's not an option.
My only other alternative seems to be installing Windows on my Mac with Boot Camp and dual booting, just to do a simple phone update. Come on Nokia, support your Mac and Linux users, we support you. Thanks.
