Nokia E71 interface bug

I have a problem with my Nokia E71. After a while, the phone becomes unable to get to the Menu screen from the Home screen. That is, when pressing Menu button, I am able to see a part of Menu screen popping up in the top right corner, but I can't access it. Looks like a window focus/z-order problem. I can still switch between apps already running but am unable to launch anything not present on home screen.

There's a new firmware v200.21.118 available for E71 in Nokia Software Update. Try updating your phone.

I just purchased a e71 with the firmware v200.21.118 and the problem still exists. Is there a solution to this menu problem ?

I have the same problem - the menu doesn't open up and this happens very frequently - really don't know the reason

hi,

i contacted nokia tech helpdesk in india and the solution suggested by them seems to be working. pretty simple stuff - go to menu - tools - settings - general - factory settings - restore all original factory settings - say yes and the phone automatically restarts. i did this and haven't faced the problem in the last one week now. try it out. it may work for you too
