I want to compose via my Yamaha keybord
Is this program designed for use with a real keyboard via a midi cable? I would like to compose music on my own Yamaha keybord plugged into my pc. If this program is not the right one ,please suggest which ones you would recomend

Inappropriate?Hi
Finale is a superb program for composing, arranging and also recording music - I use it myself, and I write and arrange all kinds of music. A big bonus is that the program also comes with a great selection of top quality sounds called Garriton Personal Orchestra, which normally costs around £100 on it's own. You can have an unlimited number of music staves, and with practice produce music notation that is as good as anything you will ever see. It is very sophisticated, though, and so you might also consider Finale Allegro, Finale PrintMusic, or for really simple composition ideas, Finale Songwriter. With a modern computer, you would usually use a USB to MIDI interface to connect your keyboard up to your computer, and these cost around £25.00. Northern Music Online keep all of these items in stock, with keen prices and very fast delivery, and you can also phone to make sure you choose the software which is right for you.
Hope this helps!
