Photo not picked up...
Hey, I uploaded http://www.flickr.com/photos/an0key/4... yesterday, and was expecting it to be picked up today... but seems to have been skipped?
The only thing, is it was uploaded at 12:30ish, on the day it was taken... would you not accept this? i.e. do photos have to be uploaded (or tagged) after 15:00 if they were taken that day?

Hi Luke,
Every day at 3pm GMT we import yesterday's photos. We use the Date Taken to filter out older/newer photos. It looks like this was taken at 00:22, on the 25th, which means it'll be imported with the rest of the photos on the 25th at 3pm GMT today (26th). So don't panic - it should get scored in a couple of hours.
It's probably worth mentioning that some iPhone apps strip out the timestamp data, and if that's the case then Flickr just set the Date Taken to the upload time. It's a bit annoying, but if that's the case here then you should set the Date Taken manually in Flickr in the future.
I’m hopeful that does the trick

Inappropriate?Hmm this is weird, the photo was taken on Saturday 24th, so I'm wondering where yesterday's date has come from.. will have a look to see if it's the iPhone or flickr getting picking up the date wrong...
Thanks for the reply though.
Just to confirm, hypothetical here, if I take a photo on the 1st, and upload it say at 13:00 GMT, it wont get picked up on the 1st, but when the script/app runs on the 2nd it will pick it up with no issue? -
Inappropriate? Most camera apps apart from the official one don't save the DateTimeOriginal in the EXIF header, because working around the Apple APIs is very tricky. If you're using CameraBag for example, I know it doesn't (CameraBag does save the geodata, though).
Also, some of the Flickr upload apps don't read it correctly either, uploading just the raw image, without any of the timestamp/geodata. The only one I know that works correctly is Mobile Fotos.
If either of these things happen then Flickr won't have any metadata to read and you'll find that it defaults to the uploaded at timestamp, rather than when the photo was taken. So the problem almost certainly lies with the iPhone I'm afraid.
We're working on a Noticings specific iPhone uploader, but it might be a while before it's finished.
And with regards to your hypothetical situation: yes, it'll pick it up on the 2nd. -
Inappropriate?Yup all seems to have been tagged fine, so no issue with noticings. *shakes fist at stupid iPhone*

Inappropriate?Would anyone be able to confirm the problem with this pic I uploaded? It appears to be tagged correctly...

Inappropriate? There's nothing wrong with that shot r0bsharp#. It was taken on the 9th, so it won't be imported until 3pm GMT on the 10th. In about 4 hours.

Oh, great. I'll look forward to seeing it! -
Inappropriate? My images don't seem to be getting picked up 2 days in a row. jacbates Could you please check out and see if I have the right boxes ticked. I have tagged 'noticings', geotagged and made public.
thanks
Jac
