Searching for a place by name.
As it stands, if I want to check whether any noticings have been found in a particular area - if I'm heading there later in the day and wondering what sort of points are to be had - I have to play a little Mornington Crescent style game where I pick a random spot somewhere near there, and then try to find the place I want via a chain of "nearby" links. It's actually quite fun and challenging, but a little slow.
So any chance of getting a text search for the name of an area, to see what's been noticed in it? (Maybe behind a "places" navigation tab, which could have a bit more information about the parts of the world in which the game is being played.)

Inappropriate?Kevan,
Firstly, that sounds way more fun than searching!
Secondly, it's definitely on the list of things to do. The problem is we have 5 million places in our database, and each place has multiple 'aliases' (local name, 'proper' name, multiple languages names), so we need to spend a bit of time getting it quick and right.
Soon, I hope.

Inappropriate? One challenge to add to this is that Flickr's naming scheme for neighborhoods is not always so accurate. I've noticed that here in Helsinki photos tend to end up mislabeled when I let Flickr pick the neighborhood automatically.
I'd really like search to understand hierarchy too, so if I search for "helsinki" it returns all the results for neighborhoods that are within HEL.
