pinging a feed manually?
Feedburner for google has a ping option, which means if you want to update your feed right away instead of the 30 min interval that feedburner automatically checks the original rss feed. would it be possible to have a ping feature on notify.me (this is handy when testing to see if rss feeds will follow through clearly, instead of playing the waiting game to see if it works out or not)

That's a great idea ... FYI, we immediately verify a feed once you add it to the service; otherwise, you will get an error when adding a new source. We definitely see value in your suggestion in order to check for updates and will take it into consideration.
