sms delivery reporting invalid number
apparently my Australian mobile number is invalid. i've tried all combinations i can think of (whitespace or not, country code or not, leading zero or not) but no dice. AU numbers are ten digits including the leading zero, which is stripped when using an international prefix.

Inappropriate?Hi Mark,
We'll take a look at supporting Australian numbers. We are currently using a mobile phone provider's email to sms gateway to send messages. In order for text message delivery to work with our current implementation your mobile phone provider will need to support the email gateway.
If you provide me with your mobile account provider's name, I'll take a look to see whether or not we can add support to the notify.me service.
Cheers,
-Hani
I’m hopeful that we can work this out
-
Inappropriate?Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm with Optus Australia, but the other guys here that aren't resellers are Telstra, Vodafone & 3.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Hi Mark,
We're using notify.me to keep an eye on our getsatisfaction page ... allows us to get back to customer posts while we're awake :)
I did a little digging on Optus in Australia, it looks like we may have a shot at getting it working with notify.me. I am going to need you to test out the following. Try sending an email to your mobile phone
yournumberhere@optusmobile.com.au
or
yournumberhere@optus.com.au
There doesn't seem to be much information out there that confirms that either one of those works. If neither of those work, please contact Optus and see if they provide an email address for your phone.
Thanks for helping us figure this out Mark.
Cheers,
-Hani
I’m hopeful that we can find a solution to this

Inappropriate?Same problem but with a french phone number. French phone numbers are ten digits long either, with the leding zero striped out when using international prefix. My phone carrier is Bouygues Telecom.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for the info davoon, do you know if your mobile provider supports and sms email gateway. notify.me currently depends on sms email gateways to deliver notifications to mobile phones. If your mobile carrier does support an email gateway, please let me know what the email address looks like and we'll get it supported with notify.me
Thanks,
-Hani
I’m hopeful that we can address this issue
-
Inappropriate?Hi ! Same problem with the SMS notification system in France. My phone number can't be validated. Is there any solution ? My provider is SFR
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi Jeff,
Can you try to send yourself a text message by emailing
phonenumber@sfr.fr
If this works we should have SFR France setup in our system shortly.
If it does not, can you contact your mobile provider and ask them if the provide an sms email gateway, that allows emails to be sent to your mobile phone and let us know what the email address format is.
Cheers,
-Hani
I’m hopeful this will work
-
Inappropriate?I'm also on the Optus network in Australia. Will give the above email address a try and report back here. Thanks.
I’m hungry for SMS to work!
-
Inappropriate?I think I've found something. I'm with Dodo who use Optus' network. I can log on to Optus mobile services and use stuff available to customers. There's a service called MobileMail. Check the features list. Looks like to get your number@optusmobile.com.au you need to pay 4.95 a month for the access. Bastards!
I’m shitty at Optus the bastards!

Inappropriate?Hi Scott,
I am guessing that this is the error you get when attempting to send an email to yourself at the following number xxx@optusmobile.com.au . Is that correct?
Also, have you attempted to contact your mobile phone provider to see if they can provide you with the appropriate email address / account settings to enable email delivery to your mobile phone?
