file, web and screen sharing on nodes
I do really need the file, web and screen sharing on the nodes. As I have the Final Cut Server on one node and put all others to be distributed services. I`ve tried to manually active (in system settings>sharing) these options, but it`s impossible to click on the check mark. It was enabled before the MatrixStore installation. Can I re-enable the single user as well?
I know that this is all for security reasons, but I really don`t mind letting them on, unless it`s incompatible with MatrixStore.
Regards

Inappropriate? When you install MatrixStore on a machine, it becomes a dedicated MatrixStore node. MatrixStore is not compatible with other services otherwise the integrity of your data cannot be assured.
If you want to re-active previous services, you have to un-install MatrixStore and reboot. After that, the machine will go back to its previous status.
To un-install, run the following command:
sudo '/Applications/MatrixStore Setup Assistant.app/Contents/Resources/scripts/uninstall.sh'
This script will re-enable all the services, will remove the MatrixStore service,
will remove the MatrixStore communication layers and will erase all data stored by MatrixStore on that node. -
Inappropriate?Hello Francisco,
Thanks for the Reply,
But my problem is that a want to maintain as a MatrixStore cluster. I saw in the strip_osx.sh and unstrip.sh all the services that are shutdown. Besides the integrity (as security or it`s really incompatible?) these services can run together with matrixstore? Even if is a Test cluster, like the macmini cluster?

Inappropriate?Hi Lucas,
As I mentioned earlier, if you run MatrixStore with other services, we cannot assure the integrity of the data:
- Other services can modify or delete data in the background.
- MatrixStore reserves quite some memory for itself, that may affect other services.
- Spotlight scans your disks which can drop MatrixStore's performance significantly.
etc...
However, if having all that into account you still want to try it, you can.
On a running MatrixStore node, if you run the following command:
sudo '/Applications/MatrixStore Setup Assistant.app/Contents/Resources/scripts/unstrip-macosx.sh'
and reboot, the system will still run MatrixStore and all the other services will be re-activated.
Tell us if you experience any problem although as I said, in that situation, your data is under risk.
cheers -
Inappropriate?BTW, I suggest you wait untill next week.
We are release an update that provides more reliability and stability to the server. -
Inappropriate?Hi Francisco,
Thanks again.
I did "unstrip" manually or by the script, and works ok. But I have to do this after creating the cluster and vault or I`ll get an security error on MatrixStore maintenance app.
I have the version 2.1.9 and I see that there`s a 2.1.18 version for download.
I have to uninstall or I can use the upgrade software on the Maintenance app? There`s a list of differences between those versions?
Regards
I’m unsure

Inappropriate?Hi,
You can do it any time (after running the Setup Assistance of course)
2.1.18 brings some important fixes.
If you already have a cluster running, upgrade it using the maintenance tool in 2.1.18.
If you don't have a cluster, better uninstall and install 2.1.18
