Linux and Other Hardware Solutions
I saw that MatrixStore works on linux and any hardware that supports linux and I was thinking of trying to use my DELL NF600 (using linux, or even daring putting Mac OS X in it) or other dell servers, with DAS from dell (MD1000 and MD3000 -anyone know if this DAS works with XServe?- that are almost the same, except by the 4GB fiber-optic card to the XServe RAID). For that I would like to know if it`s possible and if there`s a MatrixStore linux version available for download as well.

Inappropriate? The Dell NF600 would probably work very well as a node, but we'd need to double check that with the specs before that can be confirmed. But, sorry - the Linux version isn't available as a free download at this point in time :(
If you'd like to contact us to discuss that further, please do so via:
http://www.matrixstore.net/contact/
If you could give us more details (number of nodes, amount of storage, configurations, what it would be used for), it's possible we'll be able to help out in some way.
