Where is all the metadata stored ? Can this be stored in a separate storage than along with the Video Files ? Can the metadata be stored in a Commercial database like SQL or Oracle apart from open source ones like MySQL or Postgres?

Inappropriate?The Metadata in MatrixStore is stored and protected on the same disk as the video content ensuring that you will always be able to find your data.
MatrixStore does not have an SQL interface, all data and metadata flows throught the API. However, a client application could use an SQL DB (hosted separately) which contains metadata and MatrixStore object IDs. The object Id could then be used to lookup the binary data in the MatrixStore Archive.
