Offended by ODE renewal mailing
I'm not sure what is the best way to register my complaint. I received a mailing from your magazine soliciting a renewal. The problem is that the message starts with "Is there a problem?' and this is the first mailing I ever received regarding need for renewal. The mailer goes on with stuff about how I no longer care about the world, etc. Even though it ends on a bright note "We didn't think so", implying that you know I am not a callous turd lacking any empathy, it still offends. I must say this whole mailer/solicitation is extremely offensive and I am both shocked and surprised that such a mailing came from this magazine. If it were any other publication, I would refuse to renew based on the mailing alone. In fact, I even contemplated doing this very thing. But the magazine itself usually has great info, interviews, content and I will renew in spite of this solicitation mailing (Is this what you - Mr. Kamp and publishers - were going for?) Please change or stop this mailing and tactic (and even consider apologizing as I feel I will have a permanently altered unfavorable opinion of Mr. Kamp and the publishers without one)

We have asked the Subscriber Services company to discontinue the use of those letters due to their offensive nature and the fact that we at Ode promote positive measures rather than negative ones.
