Ballracer map picking!!

I see this idea and see certain problems. I was talking to angel of death in a room, and the best he could come up with is the same voting system as hoverkart. I dislike that voting system because as being a hoverkart pro, I often see maps left out...never voted on and extra high ratings because some people get really good at playing the same maps over and over. I wouldnt like for that to come to ballracer as I feel each map deserves a play and each map is eaqual to each other. It would also ruin statistics as some people would start winning more and others less because of some maps coming up more and others less.

A good aspect does come out of this idea though. I think there should be a one player practice mode where you can pick what course(s) you want to practice. Also in this mode, each smiley should have a 50% chance of being a boost or a coin, so you can get a decent time without other players. However, I do not believe that this should occur in a real match as often you would then have a 50% chance of winning.

After hearing what people had to say, i devoloped the fully advanced, deveoloped version of my idea. Here it is:
Ok, people said that some maps would never get played, or get played very little, So you could put in a system where a certain number of maps are randoly picked by OMGPOP, for example 5, then the players vote on those 5. this would mean that peoples favorite maps are not always in the selection so they would have to vote for other maps.
Next, for the people that simply like the rotation and want no change, a button might be developed that goes back to the original version of the ballracer. (for the host)
Only 1 vote obviously... =)

Yup i can definitely understand where you're getting that from LOL, that does sound weird. But, #1. i dont even know how to put a picture for my account...
#2 those people that you're talking about, some are my friends, and i told them about my idea they liked it and they had to create an account to support it, that was all today which is why they dont have pics yet... But i agreee does sound suspicious =)

I think part of the fun of the game is the randomness of the map selection. It makes it more interesting and exciting.

I suggested this a while ago, way before this Feedback site, and I still really want it!

That's a good idea! We can all vote for the map but its up to the host. The host will select on the settings if we can vote.

I'm not in like with this idea.
I think it's better as it is, when it goes through all maps, but I think where the cycle starts should be more random >_> right now it starts on Rall Bacer.

I would hate a ballracer game where everyone picked some map i was crap at over and over and over and over. >_> like all the n00bz on HKB picked the lunar hook map or whatever its called -_-

I think it's important in a game like this that you go through all the maps. :>

I would play Ballracer even less if this gets implemented.

BUT, you could maybe have some game setting about it, then it would have been ok. If default it was off. :o I bet this would help people get good times on some of the maps. They would just sit there do the same map over and over and over to they get a good time -_- but I think that's bad in a kind of way too >_<

Could it be a STAR function maybe?

I like this idea. Instead of picking the specific track though, maybe the players could pick a color and then a track could be randomly chosen that has the matching background color. That way the players could have some control, but still be a little surprised when the map comes up.

Personally, i do not want this to be implemented. Everyone will play the same tracks, regardless of skill, and the only way you can do better is if you ahve more experience and know the tracks. This will come from playing more though, so everyone can do good eventually ;D

I really want this idea! I want to practise a certain level... Yet I have to go through a rotation and its really annoying! This could be such an awesome idea!
