I can't remove the Oneriot Myspace Ultimate add on toolbar for Internet Explorer 8!
How do I remove the oneriot myspace ultimate add on from internet explorer 8? I installed the oneriot ultimate myspace add on toolbar for internet explorer 8 a few days ago then decided to uninstall it but I can't. The most I can do is disable it in Internet Explorer 8. Is there a way to completely remove it from my computer or am I just stuck with it?
It's not in my Add/Remove area of the computer Control Panel.
Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

Happy to help. There absolutely is a way to completely remove. Here are the exact directions on how to uninstall it from IE. (Are you using Vista or XP?) It should be in your add/remove area, so that's strange that you don't see it there. Directions are as follows:
FROM XP:
Process: Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Find “Add-on Name” in list -> Remove
FROM VISTA:
Process: Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features - > Find “Add-on Name” in list -> Uninstall
(Here are the names of all the add-ons we have-even though you said you had the myspace one, this is for future reference. Some people have problems uninstalling because they don't know the exact name of the addon.)
Add-on Name: Ultimate MySpace Toolbar, OneRiot Pulse Checker, OneRiot Facebook Toolbar, Me.dium IE Add-on, OneRiot CU Boulder Toolbar, OneRiot UVM Toolbar, OneRiot CSU Toolbar, OneRiot UNH Toolbar
This is our standard uninstall procedure. It sounded like you were having trouble finding it within the add/remove area which is odd. If that's still the case, then it sounds like an individual problem that we can look into further. Please message me back if there is still issue removing it, we certainly want to help.
Thanks

Inappropriate?I am using Google chrome, and I can't find any of the names listed. I uninstalled firefox when I got the OneRiot problem, but it seems to have ported itself in to Chrome.
This is really ticking me off.

would you take a screen shot and send it to me? It will help me diagnose what is going on. email jhodges@oneriot.com
Thanks for your patience. -
Thank you for your reply Jennifer,
I've actually managed to solve the problem in Chrome. I right clicked in the address bar and chose the 'Edit search engines' option. I then changed the default from OneRiot to the search engine I normally use. After that I uninstalled everything other than my preferred search engine (just to really make sure).
I can only assume that Chrome had pre - loaded my old Firefox settings when I installed it.
The thing is that to the uninitiated, it looks like your browser has somehow been taken over by spyware, and removing it or changing things back is not obvious or clear to the casual user. I am not the only person in the family who uses this PC. I can only guess that one of the kids changed the search engine priority somehow, didn't realise that they had done it or how, and left me thinking I had an infected computer despite my antivirus.
I hope this clears up the confusion. -
yes, and thank you so much for giving me an update! I also appreciate you sending those steps, just in case others have the same issue!
Thanks again! If there's anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask. :)
