Safari Wont Open Anymore
The OneRiot facebook toolbar for macs has messed up my Safari. I tried installing it and then safari just crashed while the OneRiot installer just froze. Now every time I try to open up Safari it says that it has quiet unexpectedly and that it was most likely due to OneRiot inputmanager. I have searched the computer though and have no found that anywhere, so I can't even remove it...

Inappropriate?Apologies for the issues you are having with Safari. I'll be happy to help you uninstall.
I will also attach the normal uninstall instructions for safari, just in case anyone else reading this also wants instructions.
For your specific situation, Go to your mac HD. Then click /Library/InputManagers, there delete the OneRiot Facebook directory and restart Safari
That should take care of it.
The normal uninstall process is as follows:
On the toolbar itself there is a "home button" it has a picture of a house
on it and when you click it it opens a drop down menu with links - to the
right of the login button. At the very bottom of the list you will find
"Uninstall Toolbar"
The toolbar of course has to be visible for this, so if you are having
problems finding the toolbar you should do one or both of these.
1. Make your browser window bigger
2. Right click near address bar and go to customize toolbar, here you can
make sure you have the toolbar selected to be visible. -
Inappropriate?hmm, ok---maybe it's a version issue. Our toolbar only works with Safari 3. I will talk to some of our product people right now, and try to straighten this issue out immediately. Thanks for your patience. I understand how this must be frustrating. You will be hearing back from me shortly.
Thanks -
Inappropriate?ok-just got off the phone with our product manager. He'll be working on trying to remedy this issue. It would be helpful if you could tell us what version of safari you are running and what version of mac OS X (if you know it, that's great, if not, we can try to figure it out.)
He said the folder normally is there, but perhaps it's a difference mac versions. Regardless, he'll be looking into it, and we will get back with you as soon as we've got it taken care of.
Thanks again for your patience! -
Inappropriate?I was running the beta of the new Safari, 4.0 I believe (that could be the whole problem right there). And my Mac OS X is version 10.5.6
Thank You for your help -
Inappropriate?Yeah, I had the same problem with Safari 4 beta, the toolbar worked in Safari 3 thought.
If you want to go back to Safari 3 to try out the toolbar (as I did) there is an "uninstall" app in the Safari 4 download image.
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?Ya, I just downgraded and Safari started working again. I then tried to go back up to 4 since I liked it better and it still didn't work so... I'm not sure how to get rid of this thing.

Inappropriate? We're working on it now. Product manager had to catch a flight to SF, but we should have an answer for you shortly. Thanks again for your patience.

Inappropriate? When you have downgraded to Safari 3 I believe you should uninstall the OneRiot toolbar or Safari 4 will never start (until the Product Manager fixes this issue).
There is two ways of removing the toolbar. One is explained by jenniferlauren and my solution (se other thread)
If you don't have /Library/InputManagers after downgrading to Safari 3 try to reinstall OneRiot toolbar while Safari 3 is installed.

you are a very helpful and kind person. Just wanted to say thanks for helping Sebastian out while we are trying to fix it on this end. -
Inappropriate?Yup, all fixed now. I'm running Safari 4 OneRiot free. Thank you both! I would also suggest that you warn potential customers of the issues with Safari 4.
I’m very pleased
-
Inappropriate?Well I am very glad that the issue got sorted out. We will def. be more clear on compatibility issues for future users.
Thank you again for your patience, (I know I've said it 100x, but so much appreciated!) I'm still going to have our Prod. manager look at this to prevent it from happening again, so you have helped make our product better.
Thanks!
