"Oops" because the winemakers originally thought they were making really great Chilean Merlot. After genetic testing, they realized that it was actually the Carmenere grape.
(oops)
Finding Carmenere was even more exciting because it was one of the six noble grapes of Bordeaux thought long dead from the phylloxera infestation in Europe.
