Inappropriate?
Hey Chris,
I tried many times to login using both an AOL and Yahoo OpenID about 12:30am today (Friday July 25). All attempts were unsuccessful. All resulted in consistent error messages, but they were different for AOL vs Yahoo. I had 100% consistent results in Safari, Fluid, and Firefox, so I don't think it's a client issue of any kind. I've successfully used the AOL id before, but i don't think i've ever used the yahoo one.
Steps encountered when attempting to login with AOL OpenID
1. Visit OWF login form here:
http://openwebfoundation.org/mt/mt-co...
2. Enter AOL OpenID (format: http://openid.aol.com/username) (note: my AIM username is actually an old .mac account so it contains an '@mac.com' in the username portion... i have seen many software products choke on that '@' symbol... might be the cause of an issue.) and click "Sign in" button.
3. Taken to AOL OpenID Sign In Request page to login there (so far so good). Login using this form.
4. Taken back to plain text OWF error page:
http://openwebfoundation.org/mt/mt-co...
with the following error message: "An error occurred: The sign-in attempt was not successful; please try again."
Steps encountered when attempting to login with Yahoo OpenID:
1. Visit OWF login form (same URL as above)
2. enter Yahoo OpenID (format: https://me.yahoo.com/username) . click 'sign in'.
3 Error page appears at this URL:
http://openwebfoundation.org/mt/mt-co...
Screenshot above.
Hope this helps. (yes, I *live* to write detailed bug reports ;0]) -
Inappropriate?Todd, same problem here. Can't do AOL or yahoo.
Going through AOL, it says the credentials are wrong (but the AOL signin worked, it's on the openweb side). Going through Yahoo, openweb pukes on the https. -
glad to know i'm not (too) crazy! :0] -
Inappropriate?Ok, I'll push this to Recordon and to my friends at Six Apart and get them on this. Thanks so much for the detailed report!
I’m anxious

Inappropriate? This should be fixed now according to Dave Recordon. Box was missing Net::SSL.
I’m relieved
