With some sites it is very important to pay attention if it shows "http" or "https" on loading. What about displaying the letter "s" in a different colour, red for instance?

Inappropriate?you can place a security button on the UI
Tools--- Appearance--- Buttons--- Browser View and the the Security button, you drag and drop it some place you want it on the UI
