Hi Dave, it varies day by day, but most of the time slow. We've had our hardware drivers updated recently, so our upload speeds have jumped from 0.65 to 4 Mbps. Download is pretty static at 34 Mbps. We're looking at up to 30 secs to save on IE6 - we can't use IE7/8 as it isn't compatible with our SAP finance/hr/procurement system. -
Inappropriate?Great idea. Seeing as saving & searching takes so long a game of Suduko would make the time go much quicker. Maybe if this takes off you could have a selection of mini games we could play like Pac-Man and Space Invaders as well. :¬) -
Inappropriate?I think the problem is that we are using IE6 as I have used evince at home on IE7 and IE8 and it works a lot better. We have the same problem in Devon that our IT department do not want us to use a newer version of Internet Explorer unfortunately.

Inappropriate?I've done the same - I've got a 1Mbps connection at home and it works great in Firefox 3 and Chrome too - a few formatting issues but all ok there. I don't think we would have any chance of getting another browser installed on council PC's! Not sure if OL supports other browsers? -
Inappropriate?We currently support only IE6 and 7. I know there are a few issues with Firefox but once things quiet down a bit we are going to look at supporting other browsers.

Inappropriate?We have been using IE7 for the past couple of months and have found no difference with the save/search times.

Inappropriate?Bear in mind that the browser can only help so far. If your base internet connection is not fast enough or shared by too many people then theres only so much difference a browser can make.
