Participant Email Addresses
How do I get the email addresses of respondents who have completed a Chalkmark survey? If the email isn't available, why are participants asked for the address at the beginning?

Hi Deborah,
This is a bit of an oversight on our part. We currently don't report on the email addresses that are collected in Chalkmark. Chalkmark and Treejack use the same components for identifying participants (eg email address) and we report on individual participants within Treejack but not (currently) within Chalkmark.
Email addresses are used simply as the easiest way to uniquely identify survey responses. This is currently used in the results for Treejack, but not (yet) in Chalkmark.
In the coming weeks we will be working on allowing for anonymous survey participation (so that participants do not need to provide an email address) and a number of enhancements to Chalkmark.
If you need the email addresses, for example to do a prize draw, contact us directly and we will provide run a manual report for you.
Once again, sorry for the run-around. We hope this will make you feel a little happier.
Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,
I was about to ask the same question about Chalkmark. Has there been any progress on this, please? My biggest concern is that we are asking candidates to provide their email address to a third-party. It seems possible that some will be less keen to take part because of this. So I'm keen to see the option to have anonymous tests introduced.
Thanks

Hi Tim,
As William has commented below, we are working on this because we recognise how difficult this is for some people. It's definitely in our top 3!

Inappropriate? For those of you with Tim's concerns (that you're asking candidates to provide their email address to a third-party), here is a slightly ugly work-around while the functionality for anonymous surveys is unavailable:
As long as the token given by a participant in that textbox is formatted like something@something.something, it will be considered valid. So if you still wanted to have a prize draw but don't want to give out your correspondents' email addresses, you could give them an id number in a pre-survey and then when you pass them to treejack or chalkmark tell them to use id@companyname.com as their "e-mail address".
While it's not completely anonymous to the point of not asking for an identifier, I'm afraid that it's the best we can do in the meantime. -
Thanks William. The work-round's a good suggestion. I'll be pleased when the 'anonymous' option is available too. -
Inappropriate?Hi,
this is a quick update to let you know that when you close a Chalkmark survey, all the respondents email addresses are provided as part of the results PDF.
We've also introduced the ability for you to password protect surveys, and define the type of identification required by participants (you can allow anonymous participation if you like).
I hope this makes things a little easier for you.

This is great news. Thank you. -
Inappropriate? So this also applies to Treejack, too? How would I send a reminder out to those who haven't responded if I have to wait until the survey is closed? It's important I know, too, because I'm providing different incentives for different user types.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Georgia,
Good news, Treejack isn't the same.
You can download the results spreadsheet at any time, which amongst other things will allow you to check out the list of participants who have completed your survey.
Let me know if you have any other questions or comments.

Ok, thanks. I see it now. It's on the third sheet of the spreadsheet. This is good to know. If you could make it work the way OptimalSort does it, that would be great. It's really clear.
Overall, though, Treejack is very cool and is saving me a lot of time!
