If you use this product, we'll add it to your dashboard. If you work for the company that makes this product, we'll connect you with other employees. Got it, thanks!
ScrnShots Desktop will eliminate the barriers to uploading and sharing your screenshots, making the process of taking and uploading screenshots much easier and faster.
I think Shup (http://shup.com) should add support for Scrnshots, it would be quite a good complement to the site and looks like it has more features than the default Windows uploader.
Check out how easy it is to whip up a screenshot using Shup:
Anyway, just thought I'd ping you while I work on implementing the idea. Might be the start of something neat =)
When I take a screenshot from the windows client it adds an opaque layer to my entire computer and then I basically carve out what I want to take the screenshot of (crop), however my screenshot comes out still with a lighter opaque layer.
This has only happened a few times and it seems to correspond with slowness or non-responsiveness on scrnshots.com.
Once in awhile the desktop client will "freeze up" when a screenshot is uploaded. It won't activate either button in the promt (Close or View Screenshot) - they both stay inactive - there is now way out. The app won't quit either, must reboot OS X to make it reset. Weird.
Has anyone created a firefox plugin for scrnshots? It looks like a lot of the folks who use this service are clipping stuff from the browser... wouldn't it be nice if the browser could fill in most of the information, so all you'd have to do is do one click?
If at some point a user wanted to save all of the screenshots to a local folder, do you provide a process where we can do that by having all of the images zipped for download?
Love the app so far... here are a few ideas. Perhaps if the new ScrnShots Desktop emulated a few other capture tools, us screenshot junkies would even need the others...
Specifically, in Skitch you can click on the title bar of any window or desktop and it grabs the whole thing - really quick and easy. With Paparazzi, you enter a URL and give it size parameters and pow - PNG. Both of these features would greatly add to the ScrnShots Desktop yumminess.
I took a picture with a browser plugin and saved it on my desktop. I then used the desktop app to upload it to scrnshots.com. I have done this a bunch of times and I have noticed whatever the last file I uploaded I can't delete off my desktop till I either close the client or move onto to uploading another image.
