Consider looking at Skitch for ideas
First, congrats on your product, looking great and got awesome potential. I think you guys should look at Skitch very carefully. Some of the things that make me orgasmic about Skitch:
- private screenshots
- keyboard shortcuts
- cache/history of taken screenshots
- ability to send urls to screenshots with one-click (tinyurl style)
- auto naming of the screenshot based on window title
- possible subscription model (I would pay for a good screenshot service fo sho)
I am totally up for giving more feedback and look forward to seeing this local baby grow (I am in vancouver too)

Inappropriate?Hey nice to hear from a local Vancouver-ite!
We're actually working on all of the above features you mentioned. Tomorrow, we're launching an update (0.8) to the mac app that will include more screenshot options (selection, window, fullscreen) as well as applescript integration for taking and uploading screenshots. Then, next month we will be launching a subscription model that will give you the ability to have private screenshots as well as public and private groups (as well as a bunch of other smaller updates to the web and desktop apps)
Really appreciate the feedback!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Shup is like the Windows version of Skitch :) And will support ScrnShots in the next release!

Linux is being always forgot... D'oh... -
Inappropriate? We are always getting requests to port to Linux...luckily our Firefox extension works there, but it doesn't allow editing :(
-
"We are always getting requests to port to Linux" so what? You're not porting at all... -
Inappropriate?Well people expect it to be magically easy, which it isn't, especially given that Shup wasn't written with porting in mind (which can save loads of time later). It's akin to asking a PHD student to "just" rewrite her thesis on an entirely different topic, but she still gets to write the paper in English. Oh and by the way, the new thesis will only be read by one person and it will be ungraded :)
So, if we had a team of people working on it and/or had anyone with Linux experience, it would be a more realistic request. As it now stands, using the FF extension is the best way to go.
All those excuses aside, if I could I definitely would port Shup to Linux.

Inappropriate?Just as an update to the Shup/Skitch conversation: Shup released a new version of their software yesterday that supports ScrnShots, so if you're on a PC, we highly recommend it. you can download it here: http://shup.com/shup_install.exe

PC is not Windows... You mean "if you're on Windows". -
Inappropriate?Keyboard shortcuts would be killer, as well as a preference option that lets you bypass the option box that appears after an upload.

agreed, i haven't used it for extended periods of time (i work on a mac), but i would imagine it gets pretty annoying
