Currently the electronic format of "Head First iPhone Development" only lists the PDF format. Will O'Reilly also provide the ePub and mobi formats in the near future?

Hello Allen,
Thank you for your prompt response. Based on my limited knowledge of ePub, it can handle a variety of graphic formats such as GIF, PNG, and SVG (of course the ePub reader has to provide the corresponding rendering support). Theoretically, there is no inherent incompatibility between the graphically rich layout (as cited in your example) and the ePub format. I presume the decision to support PDF only is more on the aesthetic side rather than the technical aspect, right?
Regards,
King -
Inappropriate?King: you're right that EPUB may have the theoretical ability to support complexly laid out pages like the above with SVG, but at the moment there aren't EPUB reading systems that could display such content well. The design of each spread in a Head First title is prepared with a tremendous amount of care and pedagodical intention, so we want to be careful to ensure that readers are getting all they paid for. At the moment, that means PDF.
