Our authentication system which many use to login to Safari was upgraded last night and the new system is having a little trouble handling the load. We're working on the problem but if you have trouble accessing Safari please wait a little while and try again. We're actively working to resolve the issue.

If you are attempting to login to Safari Books Online via the O'Reilly site and are unable to do so, please be aware that we are currently experiencing a critical performance slowdown on that server. O'Reilly staff are working very hard to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Assuming of course that link was meant to lead the current problem in logging in.

There, we can read the books, but we cannot do account changes without sending an email to customer-service@safaribooksonline.com

Inappropriate?Thankfully we've now found the main bottleneck and adjusted our system so you should now be able to login. It's still a little slow but it shouldn't time out anymore. We're continuing to make improvements. Please let us know if you still can't login.
