You must be talking about the 2nd edition of Java & XML, because the link on the 3rd edition book page works. The link on the 2nd edition book page points to the code on the author's site, which looks like it's change. Here is an alternative link - http://examples.oreilly.com/javaxml2/

Just wanted to apologize that you ran into a problem with the second edition. My site used to host the examples, and when they were moved on to O'Reilly's site, all the links didn't get updated.
