The NetResults search engine on my CD BookShelfs for Java, Perl, and Unix do not work with IE7 and/or widows XP
I have tried using my CD BookShelfs after updating from Window2000 with IE6 to WindowsXP with IE7 and find that my CD seach engine driven by the NetResults.bat file on the CD no longer works. This is true for each of the three CDs.

Hi,
It sounds like the versions of the CD Bookshelf that you have is very old!
After the first couple CD Bookshelves with the NetResults search engine, we switched to a different search engine with less problems. The CD Bookshelf series was discontinued a few years ago, so they are all out of print and we no longer support them.
There is one thing that might fix the problem. I've included this old fix below in hopes that it helps you.

Window 2000 fix for ASTAware's NetResults search engine
The NetResults search engine does not work properly with Windows 2000 and
Windows ME. The search engine allows you to search the first time the CD is
inserted, but subsequent uses causes an error. Because our CD Bookshelves
containing the ASTAware NetResults search engine came out before these
platforms were released, we were unable to perform product testing with
them.
The fix for the problem requires you to burn a copy of the CD with an
updated "NetResults.bat" file.
1. Copy to the contents of the CD to a new directory on your hard disk.
2. Open the "NetResults.bat" file in a text editor and add the following
line just below the line "@echo off"
SET COPYCMD=/Y
Then save the file as NetResults.bat. Make sure your text editor doesn't
change the file's extension. (e.g. NetResults.bat.txt).
3. Burn a new CD using the contents of the directory. This should be like
the original CD except for the updated NetResults.bat file.

Inappropriate? The SET COPYCMD=/Y doesn't work with Windows XP, and with Windows 2000 I didn't need it. But I don't use Windows 2000 anymore...
I’m not amused
