Will Safari work with the Amazon Kindle DX?
With the announcement of the Kindle DX, will you be updating Safari to work with it? I have been mulling a subscription, and this would seem to be an ideal pairing.

Inappropriate? We'd love to see Safari on the Kindle too. But that's not up to us. Please let Amazon know that you'd like this.

Thanks for the fast answer! One more question, do you know if the DX's native pdf support will have problems with the Safari pdf's? -
I'd love this, too. I created a discussion topic for this in Amazon's Kindle forum hoping to encourage them to open discussions with O'Reilly about the potential. Seems like it would be a big win for everyone.
You can find the discussion topic here:
I want O'Reilly Safari Subscriptions on Kindle -
Inappropriate? We are still trying to get our hands on a Kindle DX to do some testing. However, we have experienced no problem with loading and reading Safari Books Online PDFs on other PDF readers/programs.

Any updates on this, now that there are DXs out and about? -
Inappropriate?Yes. We got a Kindle DX last week and have been testing it. The Safari PDFs we have tested look great and our mobile site - m.safaribooksonline.com - looks great on the Kindle DX browser, too. For more info, there is an article about it on our Safari Books Online support portal. You can read it here: http://bit.ly/18nF4H

It works, but is fairly sluggish - which isn't too surprising. I also had to go to Desktop Mode to log in, then could switch to Basic Mode. I kept getting a JavaScript error when trying to access the login page in Basic Mode.
It also won't retain my username/password, so unfortunately, I have to enter that each time I want to use it. It would help if we could specify a username for our Safari accounts rather than having to use an email address for the username - that would speed up the process.
My Kindle also crashed and rebooted when I tried to go to the next page in one of the m.safaribooksonline.com books. Hopefully just a fluke. -
This is great feedback. I will forward to the dev team and make sure the knowledge base article is updated. For future reference, you can send emails directly to the m.safaribooksonline.com dev team at safarimobile@safaribooksonline.com Thanks. John -
Thank you, John! I really like the improvements made on safaribooksonline a couple of months ago and your post here was what I needed to make the decision on buying the kindle. -
Inappropriate? The only way I will buy a Kindle is if they get O'Reilly Safari on it.
