Will you do a book on Aperture 2?

First off, did you know O'Reilly runs the Inside Aperture community site?

As to books: We're on the fence about doing books on Aperture. It's a wonderful tool and workflow platform, of course, but the market--of users who'd need books--has so far, by the research metrics available to us (Nielsen Bookscan, O'Reilly Research, constant conversation with members of the digital imaging community), been tentative.

There've been a handful of books on Aperture, and perhaps one of them has sold well enough for their publisher to break even. That doesn't mean the market isn't changing, though.

So O'Reilly's question would be: What could we offer that's so much better than what is already out there, that would cause Aperture users to want an O'Reilly treatment of the topic over the alternatives?

I'll leave that question open to anyone who'd like to give us their input; we do appreciate hearing from you.
