Inappropriate?I use OtherInBox for all of my various mailing lists that I read. They can quickly clutter up my inbox so I'm happy to send them to OtherInBox. It isn't easy to follow conversation threads though, sadly. -

Inappropriate?I dont use otherinbox as my primary email id. I used the + feature in the gmail for subscribing to lists. But many websites did not allow that. So I found otherinbox to be very good service for that. I dont think many people would be using this as their primary email address. They want to use it for mailing lists and all that stuff. So conversational view might not be such an important function right now

Sidharth, I too have had the same problems with the + feature and I also agree the conversations might be better left to GMail. Though if the site evolves to full email client, conversations/threading will be critical.

Inappropriate?Why should conversations be left to gmail? This makes no sense. I _only_ use otherinbox for my mailing lists. Mailing lists are simply a large collection of conversations. I'm having a hard time seeing the logic to not include this feature..1 Comment Add a comment

Inappropriate?@marketer, you took the words out of my mouth. My first inclination when I signed up with other inbox: "that would be a nice place for all of those lists that I want to subscribe to" but without conversations it doesn't work well.

Inappropriate?Also, the notion that a great feature won't be implemented because it already exists in another system is pretty awful. If you're going to leave threaded conversations to gmail, then it's back to a cluttered gmail.

Inappropriate?I hope you're all taking advantage of our Mailing List filter that organizes your Mailings Lists into a folder for each list automatically!
I like the idea of a conversation view, especially for the mailing list messages. It will definitely happen, we just need to prioritize it along with everything else.
Please don't be so hard on Jonathan - he's just expressing his opinion (which we value just like everyone else's). One thing I love about using this for our support and feature suggestions is that it allows us to have a discussion like this and get everyone's input.

Inappropriate?I don't personally have a need for this, but only because I don't subscribe to any mailing lists. However, I think it's a good idea. My only caveat would be: when you add it, please don't make the feature obtrusive. By which I mean, I shouldn't have to go back through all of my mailboxes and disable a "threaded" setting or something.
