Gmail gadget
What about making a Gmail-gadget? In labs, Gmail recently opened ut for custom sidebars. Would make sense and, be great to be able to have a glance of what's new in my other inbox form Gmail (which I live in).

Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestion! We're currently working on a different way of integrating OtherInbox with Gmail - stay tuned!

Inappropriate? While an extension to the Firefox browser will be great (that is what you meant by "a different way of integrating", right?), one problem with that is that you are locked to Firefox. I only use Firefox 8/10 times (others include Google Chrome and Opera), for instance. Others choose not use Firefox at all.
And the biggest problem with that is that you can't access this OtherInbox-Gmail integration when you're not at "your" Firefox. At school I'm not allowed to install extensions, when I'm using a friend's computer the same applies.
Gmail-gadgets, while you can't have all the features as with an extension, gives you an overview of what's happening no matter where you surf:)
Yeah, I know that I can have a portable version of Firefox on an usb-stick, but it is rarely worth the trouble.

I agree with your browser-related concerns. We'll try to be as "browser-neutral" as possible. However, sometimes when it comes to different browsers, you can only deal with certain things one at a time.
There's some FireFox-specific stuff in the works, but we have some other ideas for Gmail specifically that is not browser-specific. I know Joshua said it already, but stay tuned!
