How do I setup IMAP on my iPhone?
I have read what I could find about setting up my client for accessing OIB via IMAP. I have an iPhone. The lightweight instructions do not answer simple questions like "what do I use for the outgoing mail server?" Can we get comprehensive IMAP client setup instructions posted someplace? Piecing everything together is not the best way to support your customers. Thank you!

On the iPhone, tap Settings and then Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then, tap Add Account... and choose Other.
Enter in your name, email address, and OIB password, then name the account. You can use any email address you like.

Under Incoming Mail Server settings, enter the following:
- Host Name: imap.otherinbox.com
- User Name: your OIB username
Under Outgoing Mail Server, because there is currently not an OIB SMTP server, you can use any SMTP server (e.g. smtp.gmail.com). Leave the username and password fields blank.

Tap Save and wait for your IMAP account information to verify.

When you select your OIB IMAP account in Mail, you may need to wait a few moments for your mailboxes to load. Unlike other IMAP servers, your OIB messages will not be located in your iPhone's Inbox.
Instead, there will be folders and subfolders. Your OIB Inbox will be in the "OtherInbox" folder, and the subfolders will correspond with your OIB mailboxes. Saved, Sent, and Trash/Deleted work the same way .

Inappropriate?hoon - thank you for this but the problem with IMAP on iphone (and i think this applies to mac Mail.app and other IMAP clients) is that they do not explicitly check subfolders other than the inbox and so i can't tell which subfolders (OIB addresses) contain unread emails. i think some solutions need to be found since this would be great on the iPhone in addition to all other platforms.

We definitely agree. We are working on ways to make IMAP access more useful to our users. Some of the ideas we're thinking about include alternate IMAP servers depending on what messages you want to see and how you want them organized. Thank you for letting us know you would like to see improvements in this area! -
Inappropriate?i think this problem can easely be solved, just add in each mailbox an option to "show in IMAP INBOX" and a General option to "default set 'show in imap inbox' to new mailboxes"
i whould suggest that we can delete the messages from inbox but that actually don't delete them from OIB, just IMAP inbox
I’m suggesting
