Inbox Email Indicator Error
The Email Indicator which appears next to my Inbox, and which is
supposed to show how many new/unread emails I have in my Inbox, is
currently showing "6" when there are no new/unread emails in my Inbox!
Is anybody else having this problem, and/or know how it can be
corrected?
I hope someone can help with this :(
Thanks in advance, AlanLB.

Everyone, I figured out the problem and fixed it. It was a bug having to do with how we handled mailbox and message deletion. Please let us know if this crops up again, but I expect our fixes resolved this problem.
I apologize for the inconvenience. It's great having so much feedback to use when killing bugs!

Inappropriate?Hi Alan,
We're still working on some tweaks to keep the web page updating everything properly. If you notice this happening, I'd just try reloading the entire web page and it should reset the number correctly. We're working to fix this so thanks for your patience!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hello Joshua, and thanks for your reply.
I have tried doing what you suggested, but it did not work I am afraid :(
I have also cleared my: history, cache and cookies...but this has not cleared the problem either.
My Inbox is still indicating that I have 6 emails in it, when it is empty!
Can you suggest anything else/do anything else to sort out this problem for me?
Thanks, Alan.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Joshua -- I am using FireFox 3.0.1 (I would use IE7, but I don't think you support that yet?).
Bfn, Alan.

Inappropriate?Hi Joshua -- Just to update you, the Indicator is now show I have 12 emails in my Inbox, but there are none :(
Sorry about this ~ Alan.

Inappropriate?Something seems funny with the messages in your account, we're still investigating. Thanks for your patience!

Inappropriate?Morning Joshua -- Just to confirm: this problem only started AFTER I had added the mailbox "BBC News & Sport RSS Feeds" to my account. I am not using that mailbox to receive email, but for BBC News and Sport RSS feeds - as the name suggests :)
Apart from that, I can't see that there is anything "funny" in the email I am receiving into my account.
Hopefully you can get this bug cleared up soon?
Thanks, Alan.

Inappropriate?Thank Alan - we confirmed that this is an RSS issue and are working to resolve it for you. Thanks for your patience!

Inappropriate?Hi Joshua -- Thanks for your update of 22 September last. This bug still persists; any idea when it is going to be rectified? I am loath to increase my use of your service whilst this problem persists...I am sure you understand. I look forward to hearing from you in reply; thank you. Regards, Alan.
I’m sad and increasingly frustrated!

Inappropriate?Hi Joshua -- This problem still persists...in fact, the indicator is now showing I have 775 emails in my Inbox, when there are none! Can this issue be sorted, or is it incapable of correcting? Your earliest reply would be much appreciated; thanks. regards, AlanLB.

Inappropriate? As far as we know, this only affects incoming RSS feeds. We have been working on addressing this and hope to have a new version ready to test at the end of this week. Thanks for your patience we are committed to solving this it just wasn't a quick fix.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the update, Joshua. I should mention the following: I deleted the RSS feeds that I was subscribed to, and the mailbox they were feeding...so they are no longer feeding my Inbox or the Inbox they related to. I would have thought this would have "cleared" the problem, but it has not :( Could you keep me updated on solving this problem? Thanks, AlanLB.

Inappropriate?Hi, I just wanted to add my situation in hopes to track down the bug.
So what happened was, when i first created an account, it imported my email from gmail. This resulted in displaying 378 next to the inbox icon of unread messages. After playing with the service, i decided to delete all the mailboxes imported from gmail and start clean. The problem is, after deleting all the mailboxes, it still displays 378 next to the inbox icon. I have been using otherinbox regularly for awhile now and no matter the actual number of messages i have, 378 still appears.
Thanks! -
Thank you, Joven. That helps us a lot!
Can you verify if you deleted the mailboxes using Settings -> Mailboxes -> (mailbox name) -> Delete? -
Inappropriate?Hi Hoon,
I believe so. Unfortunately it was awhile ago and I don't remember exactly. I do remember having to delete each mailbox individually so I imagine it was via the method described.
Thanks -
