Inappropriate? Can I vote again, to say how much I want this idea! :)
-
When its ready I'll post it to this thread. You'll be the first to know! -
Inappropriate?I'll test it with the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet (800x480). Crossing my fingers for a quick loadtime and I'm sure it will fit on the screen if it fits on the iPhone.

Inappropriate?Count me in.

Inappropriate?yee haw.

Inappropriate?Absolutely! If I could use otherinbox "portably", I would be very happy :)

Inappropriate?I'm excited to announce that the iPhone website is ready for initial testing! This version allows you to view Messages in any Mailbox or Folder and Delete or Save individual Messages.
http://iphone.otherinbox.com/
(we recommend you bookmark this for your iPhone and then add it as a button in your iPhone menu)
This is still very early on. I'm listing it here because its better than nothing and because we want early feedback, but we do realize that there is still a lot of work to be done.
Note that this is an iPhone website, not an iPhone application. We are working on an iPhone application separately, which should be faster and more responsive.
Known Bugs
- Remember Me not functioning on some phones. It's really annoying to have to enter your username and password every time you go to the site. Thanks for your patience!
- Message bodies are sometimes too large for the screen. I'll save you the technical explanation, but this seems to be a Dashcode limitation we're trying to work around.
Missing Features
- Block
- Delete All
- Save All
- Move Message
- Forward
- Reply
- New Message
- New Mailbox
I’m excited

Inappropriate? You can bookmark the OtherInbox web application on the home screen of your iPhone or iPod Touch. Please note, you must have the version 1.1.3 (or later) firmware to do this.
1. Open the Safari browser and type in the address bar: iphone.otherinbox.com
2. Touch the "plus sign" icon at the bottom of the page
3. Touch the "Add to Home Screen" button
4. Edit the name if you wish
5. Touch the "Add" button at the top right

We have discovered that if you are using the 2.1 firmware, there are some funny things that happen if you create a home screen shortcut.
For the best experience, we recommend that you either enter in the address bar iphone.otherinbox.com or create a bookmark and not use a home screen shortcut. -
Inappropriate? So far so good. I'm loving being able to look at the emails on my iPhone now. No real issues so far.

Inappropriate? We have rolled out some new features for the iPhone OtherInbox website. I wanted to list a few for you to look for.
Some messages are still too large for the screen. We've added a link on the message to open it in a new window to view the whole message, and you can pinch-zoom and everything!
If there is only one message in a mailbox, the transition now goes directly to the message. No stopping to see the list of messages first.
When all messages in a mailbox have been saved/deleted, the mailbox disappears from the list.
And, my personal favorite, the "Sign Out" button is no longer blinding red.
Please note, if you are running firmware version 2.1 or later, and you open OtherInbox with a home screen icon that was set up before 11/17/2008, there may be some features that don't work for you (most notably, the "Open message in new window" link). If this is affecting you, please delete your home screen icon and create it again.

Inappropriate?Due to some major infrastructure changes we made last week to improve the way messages are stored and accessed, unfortunately the iPhone web application has been affected. Messages are not showing up but can still be accessed by clicking (touching?) the "Open message in new window" link.
We're working to correct this and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. -
We've rolled the application back to a previous version that works better, but still not in an ideal way. You will not be able to scroll a message, but opening it to new window still works for full scroll/pinch-zoom-ability. Thank you for your patience. -
Inappropriate?I followed all the steps for adding to my Home Screen but the web app seems to get stuck on the login and looks like it's still thinking. What's up?
I’m frustrated
-
Thank you, Bureau 149, for reporting this problem.
We believe we have fixed the login problems with the iPhone web application. Thank you very much for your patience while we worked on the iPhone site.
Please let me know if you have any questions or any problems with the iPhone site. -
Inappropriate?how do i sign out of my mailbox in my iphone?heeeeeeellllllllllpppppp...
I’m frustrated
-
myr - There should be a "Sign Out" button at the top, right-hand corner when you're on the page where you see Inbox, Saved, Deleted, Sent, and Blocked. -
Inappropriate? Is this working as nothing appears when I enter the url www.otherinbox.com/iphone in safari
Safari just sits their with blank screen
I’m unsure
-
That's not quite the correct URL. On your iPhone, enter my.otherinbox.com and you should be routed to the right place. -
Inappropriate?I have, a couple times, been redirected back to the full version.
Also scrolling doesn't seem to work, on either version of the site.
Oh, and I can't sign on at the moment, although I could 5 minutes ago, and it isn't my internet connection. It "thinks" for a few seconds, then it stops.
I really hope this get working though, or an app for it.
I’m hopeful, yet disappointed
-
mamsden - What is the URL of the log in screen that you're on? -
Inappropriate?my.otherinbox.com/iphone
I'm redirected there after putting in iphone.otherinbox.com -
I am sorry that you are unable to log in to the iPhone site. We have had some reports from some users who are unable to go beyond the log in screen. It is a bug that we are working on to fix. I am sorry that you are unable to access your OIB messages this way.
In the meantime, I have upgraded your account to premium so that you access OIB over IMAP on the iPhone. -
Inappropriate?I am having no luck with the iphone app at all
1) www.otherinbox.com/iphone => blank screen
2) my.otherinbox.com/iphone => log in never works
3) Clicking on a link from the daily digest takes me to my.otherinbox.com/signin which redirects to https://my.otherinbox.com/iphone/inde.... This works and takes me to an iphone style view for otherinbox. Clicking on Inbox brings me to a list of my email addresses but these are not alphabetically (randomly) sorted. Clicking on one of the mail boxes displays the messages in reverse date order so the the most recent messages are at the bottom of a sometimes VERY long list as reported in this topic http://getsatisfaction.com/otherinbox....
For me otherinbox on the iphone is a dead loss unfortunately.
I’m frustrated
