What information is OIB gathering from my clicks?
Why does OIB track clicks? For instance, if I click on a link in the OIB RSS feed, my browser URL first seems to resolve to the OIB domain before forwarding me to the destination site. What is OIB doing with this information?

One of the reasons why we do this is to defeat a common security hole. The destination website logs will contain a "referer" [sic] tag that points at our website, not the website where the user viewed the message. It is mainly relevant to people viewing RSS feeds.
