Ourfaves.com rankings <> to Google.ca maps reviews
Ourfaves users can give star rankings. Google.ca picks up these rankings and creates star reviews based on ourfaves.com ranks. But ourfaves.com rankings don't match the ones on google.ca
To reproduce: Go to Google.CA and look up the Art Gallery of Ontario or the Royal Ontario Museum. Check out a google.ca review that reads as really positive but has only one star. Go to the originating view on Ourfaves.com and you'll see that review gave the museum a 4 star. But google.ca shows as a 1 star.
Based on this article, Google recommends that I address my concerns to you because their part is automated. http://maps.google.ca/support/bin/ans...

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We took a look and confirmed that the star ratings do not match, using AGO as an example. Unfortunately, there's not much else we can do on our end since it appears to be a technical error on Google's part. Sorry we can't be of more help, I'm going to contact Google to let them know but it's in their hands to fix it. -

Sorry we're still digging around trying to find right contact. I used Google's webpage removal request tool to try to notify them that their results do not match our site's. This seems like something that won't have any guarantees on how long it will take to fix since we are relying on action from Google.
It shouldn't be a cause for worry though; Google says (http://www.google.com/support/websear...) that once they reindex the site in their search results, the changes will automatically update. -

I notice that the problem is still present! This must be a concern for other organizations whose ranking / review is inaccurate as a result of Google's problem. We'd like to see it fixed quick!

I tried posting another question, this time on Google's support forums (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p...). Hopefully we can get an answer from them soon; I receive auto-alerts once someone replies to my query.
In the meantime, the Google results for your star-rating at AGO are very unlikely to make any negative impact -- most people pay more attention to star ratings of restaurants than for art galleries, especially ones with an established world-class reputation.
It will also be apparent to Google users that the search results are not representative of ratings which appear on the actual sites (TripAdvisor also has a higher rating when you follow its link).
I will let you know if I hear from anyone as soon as possible :)

Inappropriate?I understand that this may appear to be a small issue if you are outside the issue and I appreciate you trying to make me feel better ... but the bug is a reputational concern for our organization and one we want to see fixed. Unless you can show me hard facts that people don't judge based on stars. : ) If they don't, why is there a website dedicated to ranking things by stars?

Please forgive me if I sent the message that we view this as a small issue; that was not what I was trying to convey at all. If it's important to you, then it is important to us. I just hoped to provide some comfort as we are trying our best to resolve the issue but are also very limited in what we are able to do at the moment.

ETA: We have looked at our ratings and there is nothing that is left for us to adjust from our end. We are only waiting for Google to reindex their search results. If you have the Google contact who directed you to us, perhaps I may speak with them as well. Other than that, our hands are tied. -

I work for Kalamata, a greek restaurant in Etobicoke and we are having the same issue - Excellent comments - one star only. Thank you for your time and effort in resolving this issue. Let's hope Google corrects this soon. -

I made an interesting discovery that there are many more businesses who have encountered problems with Google map star rankings. http://maps.google.com/support/bin/se... We are looking into finding a way of reaching Google from other means than forums which have failed to yield any answers so far.
