Claim a business

OurPatch loads a lot of businesses on to the website as free listings. It is possible for users to claim a free business listing as their own.

When someone claims a business it is linked to their profile, and will appear on their 'My Profile' page. The owner can then change the details of the business, add events for it, or upgrade it to an enhanced or premium listing.

If a business is not owned by anyone its page will display a big "Claim it!" button. When someone clicks on this we ask them whether they're sure the have the legal right to claim this business, then let them know that it could take up to 24 hours to approve the request.

It's better if someone claims an existing business rather than creating a new one, as entering a new business when it already exists on the website will lead to a duplicate entry being created.
