No "Our readers also like:" and "Most Popular Posts" sections in a custom Blogger template
The rating script doesn't generate "Our readers also like:" and "Most Popular Posts" sections in a custom Blogger template.
The blog address is : http://review2k8.blogspot.com/
I installed the script manually with help from Rotem Doron

Inappropriate?Please notice that on another blog that uses the standard template the script works flawlessly: http://raspunsuri-grile.blogspot.com/...
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Hi Zeno,
You should claim you blog and then you'll be able to play with the settings.
Go to www.outbrain.com >> login to your account >> choose 'claim your blog' >> insert blog url>> choose 'I already have it' >>select platform=other>>get the outbrain key from there and insert it into your blog.
Once claim is done you can go to Manage blogs>> settings and play around with the settings.
Let me know if you need any further assistance

Inappropriate?Well, the blog is already claimed ... From the "Manage blogs>> settings" I had already selected: Best Recommendations (there are no recommendations displayed) , Ratings Position : Top of post (the script remains at the bottom), Most Popular : Enabled (also there are no Most popular posts displayed).
The blog on which the script works (http://raspunsuri-grile.blogspot.com/) has the following code:
<input name="OBKey" type="hidden" value="zbB+JnKpIoJ4IhGr1rgr8w==" />http://review2k8.blogspot.com/) the script has the following code:
<data:post>';
var OB_demoMode = false;
var OBITm = "1214308291121";
var OB_langJS = 'http://widgets.outbrain.com/lang_ro.js';
if ( typeof(OB_Script)!='undefined' )
OutbrainStart();
else
{
var OB_Script = true;
var str = "<script src='http://widgets.outbrain.com/OutbrainR...' type='text/javascript'></"+"script>";
document.write(str);
}
... this blog is claimed and if I access the Blog reports on outbrain.com, there are some ratings on different articles.
This situation it's quite strange.
Thanks for your help!
Zeno

Inappropriate?HI Zeno
We checked your complain, and it seems that in the Romanian Translation we don't have the entire translation for all of our words and phrases. therefore, the Most Popular and recommendations are not yet available in this language.
We can offer you:
1. Use the rater in English and right away you would see the Most popular and Recommendations.
2. Help us complete the Romanian Translation file.
if you choose to honor us with your assistance, please refer to Daniel: Danielg[at]outbrain[dot]com for some simple instructions.
thanks for using our Rater

Inappropriate?Hi, Uriel!
Still nothing :(. After changing the language to English (from the outbrain.com Manage blogs> Setting) I get the "URL is inaccessible " error message.
Also I've changed in the script the line : http://widgets.outbrain.com/lang_en.js
(it was http://widgets.outbrain.com/lang_ro.js), but the text is still in Romanian so I cannot check if it works in English.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Hi Zeno
1. You are right, we do have a problem with choosing language - it is under investigation - thanks for pointing it out .
2. i change your site language to English manually from the server side.you can see "our reader like.." block.
3. Because you installed the rater manually, you should install Most Popular manually..it is very easy; add this line to the side bar code (or wherever you like to see the MostPopular )
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.outbrain.com/outbrainMP.js" id="outbrainMPJs"/>
Let us know if it went well or if you need more detailed help.

Inappropriate?So ... can you switch (from the server) the language back to Romanian? Pls, pls
Thanks!
I’m amused

Inappropriate?Watta'....? :O
There's a bug over there:
step1: click on a tag (or click on the links located in the upper grey bar)
step2: notice that the posts matching the tag are displayed on a single page
step3: scroll down until you reach the end of the first post
step4: notice that the "Most Popular Posts" section is displayed n-times ... where n is the number of posts displayed.
Istead of displaying the "Most Popular Posts" section after each post, the script "throws" them all after the first post.
PS: I have worked in the QA :P and I know that "there are no bugs, just features" ... but still... :P
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi Zeno
sorry, this is no feature at all, and not a bug either, Most Popular is not suppose to apper after each post (some puts us in the sidebar, some in the bottom) but this is a new "stress test" of the MP :)
i highly recommend you to install MP in one place..
i think the multiple instance like your installation cause strange js behavior and some overhead in performance.
when we will develop multi instance MP i wll let you know (or install it myself like the Romanian language :)
