Outbrain rating on Typepad blogs with Advance Templates
Does anyone know how to add Outbrain ratings to a Typepad blog that uses Advanced Templates? You can not use widget when using Advanced Templates - you have to modify the template and modify the code directly.
A previous questioner asked the same question and was directed to contact support at outbrain dot com. I've tried this twice and not received any response.
Anyone know the secret code? Thanks

Inappropriate?Hi Mike,
I'm sorry that we haven't gotten back to your email that went to support[at]outbrain[dot]com. I can try to help you now. Can you send me the URL of the blog you are trying to install on? Typepad advanced templates can be tricky and its easier to help if we know what we're dealing with.
Thanks - and again I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

Inappropriate? In the question "Widget for Serendipity?" http://getsatisfaction.com/outbrain/t...
galai (an official rep) referred them to http://www.outbrain.com/get/ratings/O...
where you can get the javascript for the widget
Any reason this wouldn't also work for typepad advanced templates?

Inappropriate?Hey Mike,
This should probably work for you. They only trick with the java script generic version is that you have to put it in the exact place where you want it to appear in your blog and place the perma link into the code. If you email me at kate [at] outbrain [dot] com I can send you the code with your permalinks already inserted. (I can't post it here because get satisfaction tries to read the code.)
I'm not positive this will work but I think its worth a try.

Inappropriate?I installed Outbrain this past weekend and it works great.
The "trick" to installing it with TypePad advanced templates is that when you "Claim Your Blog" you select "Other" instead of "TypePad". If you select "TypePad" it will try to install the widget which will not work with advanced templates.
If You select "Other" it will allow you to get the 2 code snippets you need. One snippet goes in the body header and the other where you want the ratings to appear.
