Outbrain rating results - avg ratings only, not recommended ratings or people who have rated like me?
Thanks for outbrain - it's a great rating system.
I have a question I hope someone can help me with...It seems that after my posts receive a certain number of ratings, the results shown change. Sometimes I am shown that a post was "rated xyz by 3 people like me", instead of having the average result of all the votes shown. Also, at times there is also a recommended rating given (if I haven't yet rated it). Is there a way to turn these deviations off? All I want is for the average rating to be shown (calculated by all of the different people who have voted). You can see what I'm talking about here:

Thank you!

I have this question, too!
Tell me when someone answers.
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Hey substudio - 1st - thanks for using the outbrain service!
The 'rated by X people like me' language is part of our score personalization, which is intended to give registered users a slightly better user experience as it tweaks the average based on other like-minded people. However, this only shows up for registered AND logged-in users which is a tiny fraction of the people on the web.
Almost all visitors to your site will see the plain averages that you'd like them to see.
If you want to see the same, simply go to our website - www.outbrain.com - and log off from there. Then all personalization of the scores will go away.
Hope this helps!
I’m pretty confident

Inappropriate?Hi Yaron -
Thank you for the quick response and for the kind words about the site - much appreciated. And glad to know that everyone else just sees the average ratings...
I’m thankful
