I'm not sure how much influence you have in this regard. The site loads slowly, and the video hung my browser once, and the second time streamed very poorly. I do have Cable Internet high speed, run FireFox on Windows XP Pro, on a little older machine.
Is there a way to disable text links while in edit mode? If I move a text box with a link it it, or misfire on resizing, the link opens in a new tab every time.
I watched the demonstration video at overlay.tv/overlay/3975 using Firefox 3.0.1 on a WinXP machine. In spite of seeing the duration bars for the various overlays in the time line, I never saw any overlays at all.
I viewed the same video on Firefox 3.0.3 on a Vista machine, and everything was present (all of the overlays did appear).
It looks like something is badly broken with this service.
I'm not a customer, the only reason I came here was because I saw the announcement for your founders' talk on Wednesday at the Ottawa Network.
I was thinking that maybe there should be another video category, Instructional. If you upload a video to overlay.tv, and its purpose is to teach users about something, such as my recent video: http://www.overlay.tv/overlay/3973, we should be able to put it under the category of instructional. Just a thought!
Text and link boxes are resizing themselves after publishing. Resizing to first size, tiny. As soon as I add the link its small, i make it big, save, publish, it resizes to first size.
Jerome could you look at the coding I used in the overlay that is now appearing? I am trying to turn off the embed option and tried to follow the coding instructions you suggested but keep coming up with these results.
How do I remove the "Edit", "Preview" etc tabs from the embedded video? Once the overlay has been added to the video and embedded on a blog or other website the tabs are a big distraction and encourage tinkering rather than following the links.
How do I turn off the You may enjoy these other overlays as well or not? Some of these suggestions have nothing to do with why the person visited our site.
Use it to harvest products and grab video quickly and easily.

Beauty and the Bookmarklet
I like the concept here, but there are just way too many bugs with the video. I created a video and embedded it on my blog. It comes up fine in firefox but not in IE. I had to take it down and just go with the YouTube because I'm worried too many of my readers will be using IE and have problems. What's the deal?
I've been playing around with the Video Recorder but I don't think I get how it works. How do I start recording? Will the video be a target on top of the base video or does my recording become the base video? Where will the recorded video be stored?
The color, text, fill, and outline boxes for the text box are not showing up. All I'm getting is a black text bubble because the option to change the text colors and stuff aren't showing up.
Is there a way to put annotations/text (systematically) into multiple videos? I'd like an api where I could put X text or Y object at X/Y position at timecode X to X. if not now...will that be a direction you're going in?
I noticed on your developer page it mentions using serialized PHP instead of XML to access the API but I haven't seen any examples of that yet. How is this done?
