Tonight since the 10 minute Paltalk downtime... my Paltalk Express (Fluid.app/Safari, Mac OS-X 10.5.3, Java 1.4.2) has been logging me out every ten minutes or so due to "inactivity" - I leave my Paltalk online for days, I never had this problem before, I never had it with Windows version 9.x, and its very inconvenient. I don't want to have to type in the Opie and Anthony room in the morning to be able to hear the stream, I don't want to be logged out and inaccessible to my contacts just because I'm not actively talking on Pal. This is... very inconvenient and frustrating. Thank you for looking at this.
paltalk express was working on my mac, and now sound is messed up and distorted. it was working better before. the sound works fine on parallels windows on the same mac, so its not the machine, or even settings. it has to be a problem with the software for the browser in some way. please fix it? thank you!!!!
I put my login info as usual and wait for Pal to load up. I hear the login sound but pal immediately shuts down and goes back to the pal login screen again. Tried this numerous times with the same result. This has only happened recently (past 12 hours). Not sure if there was an update recently. Any help is appreciated.
In Paltalk Express today after the update (looks good with new fonts, the smilies are smaller though... but that's ok. they look good small) the time always reports AM. It went from 11:59AM to 12:00AM in the text for me. I logged out and back in, still says AM. The time is correct by the minute and hour, just says AM instead of PM.
Using Paltalk Express, I can only hear group sounds. I've tried 3 browsers (Safari, Firefox, and Navigator). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and Flash, as well as trashing various preference files, changing Java and Midi preferences, and removing audio software that might be causing conflict.
I'm running 10.5.2 Leopard on a 2 Ghz Intel MacBook

PS - Thank you for providing and supporting this webware!
I tend to talk to alot of people... and I've just recently noticed this. I don't initiate most conversations on Pal that I have so I didn't see it before...
When in Paltalk Express, if you have 3 private conversations open, to open a fourth you have to close one. A popup says so.
Now I don't know that this is honestly a problem, but I don't like it... Thanks for any insight or suggestions to remedy this. If conversations can be minimized to the paltalkscene pal list, that would be great.
When I receive a mass-message from a user who sends to all on their list, it does not show up. It pops a new tab on the tab bar and turns it orange, but i get no text in the message window. Similar messages from Paltalk Notifier work normally.
I use paltalk express on Mac os 10.5.3 in fluid.app/safari using java 5.0 default.
The push to talk works fine, however, it can be a real pain when using it on a Mac. I tend to use the Command key all the time (I'm a hotkey kind of user), and every time I use Cmd+Tab to another app away from the PTE window, it activates my mic. Not only that, it LEAVES IT ON while I work on my other apps. Then I inevitably come back to see people in the room saying "no sound" or "all I hear is clicking" (my typing).
Ideally, I could assign the key under the "File > Preferences" menu item, but I'd be thrilled with a checkbox that turned it on or off.
In today's Paltalk Express update, the Rooms Browser no longer opens automatically... and I can't seem to find it. Clicking on the Join a Chat Room link on the main page doesn't do anything for me.
Today's new start page is... fine... I guess... but the Setup Preferences window text is too big for the window now, and there's no more theme page. As a Mac user the Original theme satisfied my UI needs very well, looked more like Mac programs.
Things Pal can do on a PC that Pal Express can't on a Mac:
> Set a custom online/away status message, or display other users custom status
> Open and admin a room
> Share your isight/webcam
> Show messages received offline
> Change your display picture
> Manage blocked user list
> AIM/Yahoo/ICQ/MSN connectivity
> Skype-like telephone calling feature
Have I missed anything? PaltalkExpress is coming along very well and the webcams and voice are great. Having used regular Paltalk 9.4 for the last couple days I did notice those things were... missing... from Pal Express.
We can't configure what button activates push to talk. On Mac, its locked to [command] - which tends to be the same as [ctrl] on other platforms but somebody using Windows or Linux will have to comment on that.
Unlike Windows Pal 9.4, Pal Express doesn't activate PTT when you're not focused on your Pal window - at least not in fluid.app (safari-based thing, try it out, seriously, kicks ass. Pal dudes, if you offer a preconfigured fluid.app release - paltalk.app - it would make Leopard users really happy) So if you're using Photoshop or any other [command]-intensive things it doesn't much matter. But... we need a ptt-button configurator in the preferences panel. Thanks!
When I using my mac with the online version most everything is working fine. Great idea. One small issue, while I am in a room, and try to scroll to the top of the list of users in the room, it scrolls back down without me telling it to do so. If I want to double click a user near the top of the list, I have to work quickly.
how to get the mic to work
I cannot get a mic to work, I have no mic button, no "audio settings" in the preferences, etc, nothing.
I am using a brand new Mac with OSX, my mic works perfect. I have asked for help several times & get non whatsoever from Paltalk.
