On a Macintosh, the "command" key is used for switching applications (like alt-tab in Windows) and for cutting and pasting (like cntrl-c, cntrl-v in Windows). However, in Paltalk Express, just hitting the command key will automatically push the "Push To Talk" button in a chat room. So I will just try to switch applications and accidently jump on the mike and annoy everyone in the room. This makes Paltalk Express pretty much unusable for people on a Mac.
Hi...I mean I was sooooooo overwhemled with joy when my friend informed me I can join the Paltalk chat rooms from my MAC. As earlier I had a PC and i use to chat on Paltalk. I had a lot of friends and it was fun & engaging. Unfortunately, my happiness didn't last for long as I can't seem to type of read whats written in arabic.! In addition to that I can't even hear when my friends are talking on the mic nor can I talk on the mic even though I raise my hand and the mic is with me they can't see that.
U guys have done a gr8 job in allowing mac users to be able to use paltalk and I'm sure these few minor problems are bound to happen in the process.
I hope it would be resolved soon enough so Mac users can use paltalk as well :)
We can't configure what button activates push to talk. On Mac, its locked to [command] - which tends to be the same as [ctrl] on other platforms but somebody using Windows or Linux will have to comment on that.
Unlike Windows Pal 9.4, Pal Express doesn't activate PTT when you're not focused on your Pal window - at least not in fluid.app (safari-based thing, try it out, seriously, kicks ass. Pal dudes, if you offer a preconfigured fluid.app release - paltalk.app - it would make Leopard users really happy) So if you're using Photoshop or any other [command]-intensive things it doesn't much matter. But... we need a ptt-button configurator in the preferences panel. Thanks!
how to get the mic to work
I cannot get a mic to work, I have no mic button, no "audio settings" in the preferences, etc, nothing.
I am using a brand new Mac with OSX, my mic works perfect. I have asked for help several times & get non whatsoever from Paltalk.
There is no push to talk button available. I am using Mac os x leopard. Safari 3.1 and Firefox 2.0.12 Also when I click on offline friends, I can see invisible friends as a grey color icon with black outline.
