backslash dropped, adding contact from search fails
All users log on using <something>\firstname.lastname@something.... this works fine. When I now search (vcard search), and want to add a contact from the search results, the backslash is dropped (and the add fails). (The backslash is displayed correctly in the search results though... it's just dropped when the contact is added)</something>

Inappropriate? We're right in the middle of some changes so too much is broken right now. Sometime this weekend I'll run another build. Set your updates to "development" track and you'll get the notification automatically within 24 hours of the build.
-
Inappropriate? There are no silly questions, only confusing UI. ;)
Go to Help > Check for Updates > choose the latest Development update. -
Inappropriate?hmmm ... I only see
Help - Online Manual, Support Forum, Contact Us and About
"About" says I'm running 2.5 -
Inappropriate?Then download the update here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/pand... -
Inappropriate?ok, found the new version (but bug is still not fixed in 2.6.38, is that correct?)
-
Inappropriate? That's right, but as soon as the next update build is available you will receive the update. Maybe later today or tomorrow.
-
Inappropriate?thanks
-
Inappropriate?FYI a new build just went out. Once it gets picked up by the SourceForge File Release System, and then by FeedBurner, it will appear in Pandion as an update. Should take no more than 30 minutes.
-
Inappropriate?got it - thanks. the issue is now fixed. I assume some of the other minor issues (such as script errors when clicking on the links in the main screen) will get resolved in future versions ?
-
Inappropriate?Which links in the main screen? :-s
Please report any issues however small they might be. In fact the smaller they are the less likely I catch them myself. -
Inappropriate?Bug 1 : when I launch Pandion, connect to my IM server (with a fresh account, no contacts added yet), and then try to add a contact (using the "add someone to your contact list" link on the main screen), I get this a popup that says :
file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/peter/Local%20Settings/Application%20Data/Pandion/Application/src/main.html
Click yes or no does the same : application dies
Adding contact via Actions - Add a contact works fine
Bug 2 : when an update is released, I get a message about the new version. When asked to install the update now or later, I choose "later". After closing the client and launching it again, the update is installed automatically (without prompting) -
Inappropriate?Bug 1: Thanks, now I understand you. Will have a look at this asap.
Bug 2: Isn't that exactly what the Later button is supposed to do? It lets you continue working with Pandion and does not install the update until ...later? -
Inappropriate?Bug 2 : well, I guess it depends on the definition of later
I thought it meant "ask me again later"... but obviously it means "I'll install next time you start the application" :-) -
Inappropriate? You're right, there's some ambiguity in that label. I tried to mimic the update pattern Firefox uses. Though lately I noticed that Firefox doesn't even pop up a dialog anymore. It simply pushes the download and deploys it on next restart without confirming. (If only MS would do this with IE6. Sigh.)
-
Inappropriate?well, perhaps it would be nice to be able to choose - either "install now", "install at next boot" or "let me choose later"... that would beat both Firefox and M$ :-)
